I'm looking for a part-time UX web strategist to join the team and help us improve the experience readers have on the site.
About The Role
You're going to be working with the team (design, web development) to develop new features on the site, as well as to improve existing functionality.
Most of the work is managing the team through these implementations.
Here are some of the metrics we're going to be working to improve:
- bounce rate
- time on site
- email optins / week
There are three main aspects of this work, so you need to have these two focuses:
- UX web design
Naturally, the work involves having a good grasp on UX on the web.
And, also naturally, the work is numbers-oriented. You need to be comfortable in Excel, running A/B tests, making decisions based on data.
Finally, since you're going to be managing the team through these implementations - management is a core piece of everything.
About The Site and the Team
This is a high-traffic technical site focused on the programming space.
Here's a simple example - we've developed an "also read" widget we can add into articles to point readers to other, relevant articles.
We're testing the best position of that widget. We're running a test with 20 articles - placing the widget at the beginning of the articles.
After a week, we're moving the widget at the end - and carefully tracking results.
Then, we're going to make a site-wide decision.
