We are small wood floor company that have been trading for approx. 20 years based in South East London. Most of our customers come to us from our online presence wood4floors.co.uk and because we have a local showroom and warehouse in the area. We mainly now sell to the local London area but also to the wider national market. Because of increasing competition over the years we sell less nationally but more to our local market.
We are beginning to make improvements and offer higher quality products to our customers. These more technically advanced items generally come from Europe especially Germany and are backed up by extensive marketing materials. Most of the UK market is flooded by Chinese wood flooring products – which are generally good quality but manufactured to meet price levels dictated by the importers – they have little or no marketing material supplied by the manufacturer or importer.
Most of our leads come from free samples that are mailed to potential customers who request them from our website. These are not followed up or indeed nurtured at all presently.. A certain percentage however ask for quotes and turn into purchasers. We do provide an independent fitting service for our products which does help to increase sales - following quotes for installation. However a large amount is sold to customers who have their own fitters i.e. builders etc. during improvement works.
We would like to use inbound marketing techniques and content management to increase our market. These would include a large range of media including highly visual articles – infographics – new website pages – we our particularly interested in using the shorthand platform( The Visual Storytelling Platform https://shorthand.com/) This is mainly used by journalists but I hope can be adapted for our use.- please have look and see what you think.- press releases etc.
Potential customers have problems and needs. They don’t want to hear so much about our product. They want to hear how we can solve their problems and meet their aspirations.

Consumers don’t get sold anymore, they do their own research.
It’s unusually simple:
1. We identify problems that our target customer has.
2. We write articles about them.
3. We publish them on our blog etc
4. We promote those posts though our email list, Facebook, twitter, etc.
5. Our customers find them, read them, then see us as an authority.
6. They get curious about our solutions.
7. They create an account after reading a post or join our email list.
8. We send them more answers to their questions with an opportunity to contact us.
9. They get samples followed by info – lead nuturing along the way to gain trust with email or sms
10. Easy sale the lead already knows our products, likes and trusts us.
