I'm developing a 4-Panel, classic-styled comic web series as a tie-in to a series of chapter ebooks, as well as an educational film premiering at museums, that I'm releasing the beginning of next year. The plan is to launch the tie-in web comic along with the books in January 2017, which will run a new 4-panel strip every week on our main website and our app until the conclusion of the serial (though, depending on popularity, the strip could continue beyond that). A compilation would likely be released on Comixology following.
Work would begin late-summer/early-fall 2016, and continue until completion. Work at your own pace, so long as release deadlines are met. You'll be working from a script/layout description I provide.
Though the book series the comic ties into is an anthology of titles, the serial we'll be developing as a comic strip features anthropomorphic characters in a retro-action/adventure (think 30's/40's) world. Highly inspired by Floyd Gottfredson's classic Mickey Mouse comic strips, and Carl Barks work on Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck (or the basis for DuckTales).
Each strip pays $50 for finished art/ink/lettering/color; we'll also need to develop character models for the main players, and each of those will pay $50 as well. Eyeing 4 to 6 character models and at least 26 strips right now, though that could change (the $1000 posted here is more a place holder-- you'll make per strip, not lump sum). A shared royalty will also be offered for any compilation copies sold into perpetuity, though I'll retain all rights.
