What we build
At SocialOrra we are building modern and highly scalable systems focusing on well designed high quality software. We are seeking an engineer to contribute to Semantic Knowledge Engineering efforts in the social media domain, specifically to develop the relationships between Twitter ads, Facebook ads and our business domain. The emphasis will be to develop a Twitter ads ontology related to our business and Facebook ontology.
Who you are
You have strong software development skills, a keen interest in semantic web and ontologies, and you want to develop and improve upon our current ontology that spans social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in order to discover and expose meaningful and useful data relationships leading to potential business strategy recommendations. You work in an agile and collaborative fashion discussing with your peers the right way to build the application and how to quickly deliver value to the customer. You provide constructive and honest feedback to others and accept it in return without ego.
Map out the Twitter Ads domain with all the ad entities and relevant metrics
Relate Twitter ads concepts to our internal business domain with the purpose of applying machine learning in order to provide ad optimization recommendations
Build project prototypes for demo/validation purposes
Experience with graph databases, triple stores, RDF, OWL, SPARQL and/or other semantic engineering technologies.
Knowledge and expertise in graph algorithms and analytics.
MS, or PhD in Computer Science/Semantic Knowledge or equivalent work experience
Familiarity with social network / ads APIs (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Analytics)
Product/Innovation driven personality
Participation in and contribution to open source projects
Knowledge of Machine Learning
Knowledge of the latest features of Scala, Akka, Play, Cassandra, and sbt
Have startup experience
