Hi - in 2011 some 12 friends and I developed a 'punters club' concept. Its a bit of a twist to the regular workplace 'footy tipping' comp that is so popular across Australia (and I'm sure across the world).
For those that don't know what a tipping comp is: http://www.footytips.com.au/
We feel the rules we have developed are quite unique, and really enhance the enjoyment of betting socially on sports with colleagues. Its also a great way to track each members progress throughout the season - the stats are great!
The punters club has grown to 50 members in 4 years, and the original members feel the product may actually be commercially viable, although there a few obvious hurdles.
Currently we use a generic sports betting account - so all members receive access to a single betting account to place their weekly wagers. They then copy their wages and place onto a facebook group for all to see and critique, gloat or commiserate once the bet is complete.
We download the weekly betting...
