In summary: a mobile phone will touch NFC tags, showing location & equipment type and allow somebody to enter in the number of equipment items. It will then store the equioment totals, along with their name, date & time. This mobile data needs to be passed to a spreadsheet on a PC.
We require an app that will initially extract data from a spreadsheet to gain tag information (i.e. Tag No, Location, Equipment type). Then, when an NFC tag is touched by the mobile, the mobile app will be able to display, Location & Equipment type, plus an input for a count (i.e. 10 pieces, or <No> pieces etc), plus Name of user, date & time of tag touch, and pass this into a small database on mobile, or better still a spreadsheet. Data type is really simple. There will be many NFC tag touches over a day, or week, and this data is stored in the spreadsheet on the mobile.
Now the difficult bit...there is no internet available, as this app is to be used on cruise ships. We therefore require a 'bridge' program, or something, that will allow the transfer of the data from the mobile, back into the original spreadsheet, clearing the data from the mobile once the transfer has been completed.
FYI: The spreadsheet has been written by me, the data input requirement is in rows (CSV style). The main problem, as I see it, is getting the data from the mobile onto the PC; into the spreadsheet is easy. I envisage a USB connection with an OTG lead from the mobile to get the connection. However, if you have a better suggestion then I have an open mind.
