Need a simple and secure VPN set up in our Austin office so that a remote office in Houston can access local files that can't be shared through dropbox or the like, such as Quickbooks, as well as some administrative and client files. We already locally share these items in our Austin office network, and I want to be able to have the same local feeling access in Houston. Low usage, we will either set up a spare computer as the server, or we can purchase a separate machine of your recommendation to run the whole shebang. If you're not local, and you think you can talk me through it, I can probably follow instructions well enough. I've set up everything myself so far, and if I watch enough youtube videos, I could probably muddle through it, so remote expert advice is a real possibility, although someone on site would be preferred, and I'm sure I could hire you for 100 other things while you're here :).
Our company is stuck in the middle, we're not big enough to hire some large firm to set up dedicated 100% uptime VPN, but we're not so small that I want to jury-rig the whole thing and have to deal with the consequences of cheaping out.
