I am looking for someone experienced with Swift iOS development (not interested if you've only worked with Objective-C) to help contribute to a project that I've already been working on for the past few months. I am a programmer myself, so am not looking for someone to start from scratch or take over the project, but work along side me to help get tasks done quicker. My code is already in a private repo on GitHub and I have a long list of tasks that need to be done already in the issues section.
I am using a self-hosted Parse server for the back-end and use CocoaPods extensively for including external libraries. Some of the tasks could include adding to the functionality of open source libraries that I am already using such as ALCameraViewController (https://github.com/AlexLittlejohn/ALCameraViewController), in which case, we will be able to contribute that functionality back to the libraries and obviously your name will be attached to that work. A couple of the libraries I'm using are also written in Objective-C, so if you have experience with it, that would also be helpful so you could help build on top of those as well.
The app is a niche social network similar to Instagram, but it also contains things like a map of locations, a store, and could include more unique features down the line. It would be great if you have experience with things like video, custom uis, and animation as those are things that I don't have much experience with yet and could learn from your code. I am also beginning to work with designers so you will need to be able to translate well from designs into working code. I currently have a nice flow of automatically exporting assets from Sketch into Xcode, so you should also have Sketch installed on your computer of be able to get it before starting.
I also haven't been good about writing a test suite for my code, so it would be great if you could help me get that started so that we can start to move more towards Test Driven Development.
It will be a requirement for me to see an app that you have written or contributed to that I can download from the App Store and also see some code samples in Swift. I will like to give you a couple of small tasks to start and test out your work before committing to more work after that.
I do have the app currently working in a private beta, so can add you to the beta if you're interested in checking it out before getting into the code. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
