We are looking for someone experienced in building web maps.
Django/Python - very important
PostgreSQL, PgAdmin III, QGIS, PostGIS
Linux and Virtual Machine
Work will include making extensions and refinements for an existing online map platform, MapPort. Features to be programmed into our software include:
• Map annotation by user
• User account management
• Paid access interface (tier based subscriptions)
• Map legend keys
Also incorporate modifications to the operator dashboard to enable an operator trained only in desktop GIS technology to implement maps.
MapPort is developed in Python 2.7 and Django 1.7 and is a very thin layer of code around Django models. Basically, it constructs models in run-time, based on a model called Layer. It does not have unit tests. It does have a Continuous Integration task suite, constructed using Fabric. It can be used to deploy MapPort, update its code remotely, or other things. Both PostgreSQL 9.4 and PostGIS 2.1.7 databases are used.
Tell us your interest and experience in online map/geospatial technology. Include links to your online work product examples and your resume.
Hourly rate and firm time estimates will be agreed upon to develop extensions/other products based on design and/or functional specifications provided by ENPLAN.
