I'm about to publish a book that discusses various questions about Tolkiens Middle-earth: "Who is Tom Bombadil?" "What is Ungoliant?" "Are the Elves really immortal?" "Are Hobbits non-humans?" and so on.
And that is where you come into play.
I need 1 illustration In A3 portrait orientation in detailed black and white line art that depicts the following scene:
An elaborate frame made of trees and leaves surounds the whole illustration. The illustration itself shows a huge, stylized spider, that crawls from the left bottom of the picture toward the stylized figure of Thom Bombadil, who jumps around in the upper part of the picture. In the upper left of the picture, we see the One Ring with Sauron's eye in it.
At the beginning of the work, you'll receive a short briefing from me. After you received the briefing, you deliver the sketch for the finished illustration within 3 days. If necessary, the artist must be ready to make revisions to the illustrations. After I told you that it's okay to go on, you deliver the finished illustration within 7 days after that.
The finished illustration must be delivered in two versions: A scalable Vector file (two layers: One for the illustration, one for the cover text) with the cover text in German, and a scalable Vector file (two layers: One for the illustration, one for the cover text) with the cover text in English.
Please attach at least 1 older b&w illustration sample to your bid/message, so that I can judge whether your art style is right for this job. Don't just link to your online-portfolio: I won't visit it.
Work begins in September, 2016, and should be finished within two weeks (half a month). Upon payment, all rights to the illustrations go to me. Budget is limited to 15$, but a positive (and detailed) feedback is assured. Although the feedback is NOT considered part of the payment but is something I give customarily for a very well-done job. And it has proven on other places to be a BIG help in getting new work for artists.
Okay, looking forward to your bids. Don't forget to answer all questions, to attach at least one old b&w line art sample of your past work (unanswered questions and/or missing old art samples will cause me to take you from the list of applicants) and Good Luck!
