From July 4 - July 10, my wife, 8-year old son, and my in-laws are taking a vacation to San Diego, CA, and I'd like a list of things to do on that trip. I don't need you to plan out our days there, but a list of options for each day with brief descriptions and links to more info would be very helpful.
For each item, please include 1) name / title of activity or place, 2) link to website, 3) pricing, and 4) your summary of the activity or place.
First, the San Diego trip...
Here's a list of things that I think we'd like to do. Please provide info on these, as well as any others you think would be interesting.
* sunset sail boat dinner cuise
* sailboat ride to a nearby island where we stay at a hotel and then then sailboat back the next day. (I don't even know if this is possible...)
* san diego zoo
* easy hiking...with really good views.
* cool sigh-seeing type of things and places
* nice shopping for the ladies
* any cool spots that are more off the beaten path that locals like
* baseball game
* botanical gardens
* historic sights
There will be 2 sets of adults and the 8-year old, and we'd like to stay somewhere waterfront or at least water view. This could be the bay or the ocean...ideally the ocean, but not if it's crazy expensive. Please provide lodging suggestions.
Ok, now for the trip to Maine...
My wife, 8-year old son, and then-6-month old son, my parents and I will be on this trip. My parents are in their 50's, but my dad isn't able to do tons of walking. Some walking is fine, but not tons. We'll be going one week in August, not sure which week yet. Here's a brief description of what we're looking to experience, followed by a list of possible activities that you can add to.
We'd like to spend our week in or nearby a "quaint" New England town. Ideally, we'd like to rent a waterfront house....preferably on a lake that's within an hour of a nice port town / city or fishing village. Assuming we're able to stay at a lakefront house, then it'd have to be a lake that has boat rentals, and I don't mean just canoes. I mean boats you can water ski behind
During our week there, we'll spend time on the lake, going into town for meals and shopping, and we'd like to do 1 or 2 dinner cruises....up a river or around a bay or something. We'd also like to visit any historical sites of interest in the area too. Hiking won't be an option, but a scenic drive would be nice.
