Looking for a developer to work with me on a Raspberry Pi 3 project, in which it will take in sensor data from a vehicle and display it on a screen. This will need to be a customization interface and graphs based on the input. I am completely open to utilizing Open Source software that is available.
The target vehicle is a 1982 Trans Am, being built as KITT from Knight Rider. There are a number of vendors that make a physical circuit board dash out there, but many are very pricey. I would like to take in the same kinds of sensors and inputs and display it on a screen instead of electronics.
Per KITTS layout, we will use 2x Raspberry Pi's, one for the left with MPH and right side with RPM, and other graphs as seen in examples below.
I need to know that you know what kind of sensors we need for the Raspberry Pi, connecting them to the vehicle, and you will program a UI to display the values to mimic the Knight Rider KITT dash.
I want the interface to be as real time as possible. No web interface. Open to suggestions for the OS on the Raspberry Pi. I almost wonder if loading an Android OS on it will give us the closest view to the screen, and fastest development time - but open to hear how you would approach.
Any generic submissions will be ignored. I want to know that you have specific experience that will relate to this project, and how you will go about approaching it, what platform, what programming language. I would prefer a flat project fee, and ongoing support. I am open to answer any questions, but would prefer that you do your research. There are a TON of youtube video's out there of Knight Rider electronic dashes out there.
