We are looking for an Android and a back-end developer for a key-sharing project from scratch. We are building a way for Airbnb hosts and others to securely leave keys to be picked up by guests, eliminating one of the most stressful parts of any Airbnb stay - how do you get the keys? In addition to Airbnb, secure key exchange is great for letting in cleaners, real estate agents, friends and family if you're not around, or even as a back-up key for yourself in case you are locked out. Our product consists of two components - a website, through which apartment owners can manage the keys they have put in the system, and an Android application, which will be used by employees in the cafes and shops where keys will be dropped off.
The web/back-end component will consist of a backend api with about a dozen restful objects and a simple web UI with user accounts. The Android application will use the NFC reader/writer in many Android phones to to read and write to NFC-enabled key fobs, enabling shop employees to check-in keys that are dropped off to them, and then give them to guests who present a valid collection code.
The ideal candidate would have some Android and web development experience, however if you have only one or the other, please do get in touch. We would also be happy to work with a team of two who have, collectively, Android and web dev experience.
We are hoping to get this done in a few weeks, and we have more detailed specs for a better estimate.
