I am looking for an experienced video game coder that can develop a traditional Tactical RPG battle system game. I am a massive fan of TRPGs such as "Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1)," and "Ambition of the Slimes (3DS)," and would now like to create my own. Unfortunately, I do not have the video game coding knowledge to do so, therefore, I am posting this listing on Upwork to solicit your help in my video game creation endeavors.
The main aspect of MY TRPG is its battle system, which is highlighted in detail below:.
-1-Player & 2-Player Modes (MY TRPG should have a 1-Player Mode, and 2-Player Mode battle system. Both modes will have unique functionality and attributes.)
-Isometric Battlefield Maps (Battlefield grid map as common in popular TRPGs. A typical battlefield will feature “grass field” landmarks, such as change in elevation (i.e. hills), grass, trees, plants, flowers, creek with bridge, etc. etc.. User also has ability to turn battlefield grid overlay ON and OFF.)
-Multiple Battlefield Maps (Ideally, I would like to have three distinctly different battlefield maps. For example,
Battle Map A: features natural, grassy field environment,
Battle Map B: features a dry, desert environment with sand dunes,
Battle Map C: features a village environment with various houses.
User has the ability to select Map A, Map B or Map C before battle commences.)
-Battlefield Map Camera (The more battlefield camera angles, the better! User can move camera 360 degrees around battlefield, also Zoom In / Zoom Out, for optimal viewpoint.)
-Unique Units (MY TRPG should feature 10-15 different selectable units for battle. For example, a Warrior Unit, Knight Unit, Thief Unit, Dwarf Unit, Mage Unit, Archer Unit, Healer Unit, etc. etc. Each unit has its own unique strengths and weaknesses. For example, Warrior is categorized as a melee unit, requiring hand-to-hand combat to attack with strong defense. In contrast, Archer and Mage are range attack units, and can attack over large distances but have low defenses. Each individual unit has unique attributes for ATTACK, DEFENSE, MOVE RANGE, ATTACK RANGE, and, of course, HIT POINTS. Like any RPG, individual units have a set number of hit points for battle. When a unit’s HP is fully extinguished, unit dies.)
-Unit Movement / Unit Attack Range (When individual unit is selected on battlefield, user should see unit’s range of movement on battle grid, as well as unit’s attack range.)
-Unit Selection Number (User has the ability to select 4-6 units per side before each battle, for both “Player 1 Team” and “Opponent AI Team.”)
-Battle Team Selection (User should have the ability to select units for “Friendly Team” and for “Enemy Team,” for example:
Sample Team #1: Knight, Thief, Archer, Healer
Sample Team #2: Warrior, Dwarf, Mage, Nurse
Sample Team #3: Warrior, Thief, Healer, Mage)
-Opponent Artificial Intelligence (When playing in 1-Player Mode, game’s artificial intelligence controls Enemy Team units. In other words, when the user moves his or her unit or attacks, the A.I. adjusts accordingly, i.e. A.I. attacks user's unit if in range, retreats any vulnerable units, heals injuries, etc. etc. AI does NOT need to be Einstein's level of intelligence, but logical and competent.)
-2 Player Game Mode (In addition to 1 Player Mode, user has the option to play against a friend on local computer - No Online/Wireless functionality needed.)
-“Battle Successful" / "Battle Failed" End Screen (As battle concludes, user should be properly informed if the battle was indeed successful (opponent team was defeated), or unsuccessful (user’s team was defeated).
-MY TRPG does NOT require advanced graphics or sound! (I envision MY TRPG to look similar in appearance to “Ambition of the Slimes” on Nintendo 3DS – nothing fancy. Gameplay, game mechanics, menu options and intelligent programming are much more important for this project than super advanced graphics / sound. Please see image attached to posting as sample graphical model.)
-Operating Platforms (MUST run on the PC/Windows 10 Operating System. Ideally, it would also be nice to have MY TRPG run on a portable game console, such as: Nintendo DS or Nintendo 3DS or Sony PSP or Sony Vita.)
