This web site is for a charitable organization that collects donated materials from local
businesses. These materials could be anything a business doesn’t need anymore and
they want to get rid of. Items such as balls, plastic pieces, pens, wooden blocks, scrap
pieces of cloth or paper. The charitable organization collects all these donated items at
their location (store). Then local teachers visit the store, pick these items they will use
in their classroom and buy them at a big discount.
The purpose of this web site is to allow the teachers to log in, select what items they
want, submit their order. Then, all the orders from teachers at that school will be
combined and printed out by web site Admin. The store employee will pick the orders
and then they will deliver them all at the same time to the school. This is beneficial to
everyone because all the orders will be delivered at the same time instead of each
teacher driving to the store individually. It will save the Customer’s time.
a couple of clarifications:
1) The customer does place an order for materials, but there are no prices. The orders are all $5 each BUT the financial part of the transaction is managed offline, separately. The programmer does NOT need to implement any financial transaction component in the web site design.
2) The ordering process does collect order qty (which needs to be recorded on the pick sheet) , but all other inventory transactions are managed offline. So there is no need to subtract items from inventory after each purchase. That is handled separately....not through this web site.
