We are attempting to set up a cloud only configuration for Active Directory. We have configured AD on Azure and it seems to be working properly. At this point, we have an application (Qlik Sense) on a remote server that needs ability to access the user directory over LDAP and import users in the directory.
We've configured a self-signed wildcard certificate on the remote server, and uploaded a copy to the Azure "Domain Services" tab under Active Directory -> Configure. Azure then provided an IP address once it processed this.
At this point we're having trouble with the final components of the configuration, mostly because we're not familiar with AD in general, or Azure AD in particular. We need an Azure expert to review current steps, identify any tweaks, etc, and help us get the remote application pulling users in by LDAP.
Please apply only if this is something you've done before, and have recent, relevant experience. Time is getting to be of the essence - this does not seem to be a difficult thing to get done, but it appears to require knowledge from someone who has been through the process a few times. General AD/LDAP experience (that is, without setting it up on Azure) is probably not going to be sufficient to get this done in time.
A final note: we will need to do this using a screenshare (e.g. Join.me) as we will not be in a position to hand over any login credentials. Also, we want to make sure that we have a clear understanding of how things are configured. Thank you for your consideration!
