MANGA.TOKYO is looking for freelance writers passionate about Japan and the otaku culture.
MANGA.TOKYO is a WEB media based in Japan.
We seek the latest news, write the most interesting reviews, and attend every otaku event we can find. We cover anime, manga, games, and everything related to the Japanese otaku culture. We are also planning interviews with the creators: Japanese amateur mangaka, animators, and anime production companies!
We want to create a site full of interesting content for all the Otaku people who want to visit Japan.
Manga. Tokyo is now looking for passionate writers who want to spread the love of otaku culture!
- Applicants must be either living in Japan or have experience living in Japan.
- Applicants must be passionate about the Otaku culture.
1. Original projects
Writers can submit original article and feature proposals. Each proposal must be accompanied by an outline, work plan, and all relevant information. Manga.Tokyo will review and greenlight the most interesting proposals.
2. MANGA.TOKYO's projects
Writers can also submit article and feature outlines based on a pre-populated list with titles. Manga.Tokyo will review and greenlight the most interesting outlines.
* In both cases, every decision will be made after a discussion between the writer and our editors.
Manga. Tokyo is about the otaku culture, so it's only natural that we are looking for articles that Otaku fans can use as a reference when visiting Japan.

We want our writers to be a beacon of knowledge for all the Otaku fans that want to learn more about the Otaku culture. There are so many questions that only real Otaku fans can answer. We want you to be one of those writers and write about your personal interests and the things you are passionate about!
Writers will have their own shared Google Drive folders where they will submit their work (text, video, images). Text must be converted in Google Document format.
From 3000 yen (per article), depending on many factors such as word count, nature of work, proposal outline, etc.
We cover transportation expenses for work-related travels, such as events.
