Seek passionate teacher to consult on exciting Gamified Learning project
Project is creating a gamified learning platform to teach kids STEAM concepts
Main role will be to drive the initial quest based lesson planning and content creation tied to key curriculum pillars with a focus on teaching STEAM concepts for grades 4-6
Excellent English, reporting and documentation skills
Passionate about ICT and digital learning models for kids
Teacher with experience teaching primary and/or high school in a K-12 setting
Deep understanding and practice of latest
a) ICT teaching principals
b) STEAM/STEM and blended learning methods
c) Practice using Minecraft in the classroom.
d) Experience and confidence in creating STEAM/STEM lesson plans using digital learning applications
Highly Desirable but not essential:
Experience with kids coding learning principles e.g. Scratch, Tynker, Code.org
Ability to code and make game in java/C# or another language
Aim of Project:
Ongoing project aimed at democratizing education and enhancing opportunities for STEAM learning for low income Western and third world kids.
Will work directly with the Executive producer and be supported with project plan, scope of works, curriculum guides, sample lesson plans and quests, and the game.
Scope - Phase I:
Initial scope is to create "up to" 50 quests of varying complexity/difficulty with lesson and assessment plans based on key STEAM concepts that can be taught within the scope of the game platform features; which include, building, design, painting, coding and simulated environments in a third person open world game setting.
The game is essentially a cross between Minecraft meets Tynker with a quest system ;)
