We need to create a library of expert "How To" Guides for various businesses in the retail, bar, restaurant type spaces.
Looking for both writers and editors - the deeper your experience with the specifics of running a business, the better. This means that you would be able to give expert advice (and review articles from others, contribute ideas, etc) on some of the following topics. If you are an expert at just one of the areas, that is totally fine, as we will build a team of people to cover what we need.
- hiring staff
- managing & motivating staff
- accounting (particularly highly specific challenges for particular industries), other financial-related guides
- general operations for a specific type of business
- "tricks of the trade" are ideal
These are NOT intended to be general, obvious guides that have been done 1001 times before. These are intended to be real, insider guides that have tips, tricks and processes that mostly only experienced people would know.
Another way to think of it: "What do the top businesses in the industry do well, that the lesser ones do not?". For example, a top restaurant manages their table turnover rate to ensure they maximize revenue during busy times. So an informative guide on the different methods for managing table turnover rate would be a good guide for us to write for our restaurants section.
If you have strong background relating to small business accounting then this can also be very helpful, but is not necessary for all guides.
