I need a simple HTML5 game for matching items to categories. It’s for an educational purpose: to help people remember which items belong to which categories.
The categories are shown graphically, and they are fixed for the duration of the game. Items are shown on the bottom of the screen, one at a time. The player decides about the relationship by clicking on the category that the items belong to.
There’s a time limit for answering each question, and if they don’t answer within that limit, they will lose that point.
There’s a visual feedback for each answer: the right category is highlighted in green, while others are faded out. If the answer was wrong, the wrong category will be highlighted in red.
Items are shown randomly from a pool. When the previous answers for an item were wrong, chances of having that item show up will be higher (space repetition).
There’s a certain formula for calculating the score based on the person’s speed, and rate of right answers.
The game is over when the person stops it, or they answer 5 items incorrectly in a row. At that moment, a sorted list of items that they have answered incorrectly will be shown, with a feedback that explains the rationale.
The game should be fully compatible with all common desktop and mobile browsers.
It should be possible to generate multiple games based on the code, for different sets of items and categories.
