Underwater metal on boats often corrodes. When two different types of metal are mechanically joined (a bronze propeller and a stainless steel propeller shaft, for example) and submerged in an electrically conductive fluid (i.e., seawater), corrosion can be rapid and expensive. You will study the degradation of metal using a standard electrochemical technique.
