I have a Synology NAS disk array. There are a set of folders that accumulate files from from external devices via FTP. For this set of folders into which this data accumulates, I would like a script that runs daily and deletes any of the contents in these specific folders that is beyond a specific age.
I need to be able to update the set of folders on my own by simple editing of the script, and I would also like to be able to update the qualifying age used so files beyond that age are removed. Therefore I would expect these folders and paths, as well as the age to use to select files to delete that are older than this number, would all be easily identified and editable at the top of the script. Since I'm not a programmer I want to be able to easily update these if I need to change the folders, paths, deletion threshold, or if I want to add to or remove the number of target folders.
This needs to run in a Synology 415Play NAS as a scheduled user task, my plan is to have it run every 6 hours or so.
The script I am requesting does not need to handle the scheduling, this script will be set up in the Synology DMS manager to run on a periodic basis, likely 4 times daily.
This should be a pretty simple script, it's just that I'm not a developer and don't have the time available to do the research, development and testing..
