Hello Creative Writers,
I'm looking for a wordsmith, a poetic soul and incorrigible art freak to help us write a poem and rationale for an art installation.
The installation is called "Harmonies" and is about, well, things being in harmony!
The installation combines motion detection, facial recognition and
projection to composite a singular face out of many faces that the
A soundtrack is also created from all the people passing by. Standing
in front of the installation and jumping around will create variations
in the track, but always blended harmoniously.
A moving blend of colours will form the background of the
installation, again directed and generated by the crowd.
The location of the installation is at the base of a busy escalator,
with the cameras trained on all the people going up and down the
escalator, and walking to/fro in front of the installation.
The installation invites everyone to look at the beauty that is created when we all come together, just our very existence has the potential to create harmony. It's a message that's particularly relevant in these troubled times. Furthermore, being from Singapore, we are a melting pot of many races, nationalities and religions and National Day being just around the corner, a celebration of the multiracial harmony that we've achieved in our small nation.
The deliverables should comprise both:
1) An abstract poem that carries the message of all of us being part of a greater whole (of any length that you see fit)
2) A short description to accompany the poem of about 200-300 words about the installation in better words than I've been able to phrase.
Please share other poems you've written in the past! And thank you :D
