I need someone to research the professional organizing industry as a whole, for the United States, for California and for my region specifically - San Francisco Bay Area. I want to know things like: How many POs are there worldwide? in US? In California? In SF Bay Area? In the Eastbay near my home in Lafayette? How much do these organizers earn? Do they have employees or subcontractors? Do they all belong to our National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO.net) Do they also design closet and garage cabinetry like I do? How many of these POs organize commercial entities vs residential vs both? How many would be direct competitors? Who else might be a competitor of mine? An interior designer who also organizes? How many people use a POs? What is their income? Where do they shop? What are their purchasing habits? How many tv shows are there re Prof organizing? Books? How lucrative is the industry? Are there articles or research done to support hiring a PO - either in private sector or by the government? Is there research showing psychological differences in children/adults who live in cluttered house vs uncluttered? Is there research to show benefits of an organized office/desk to increase productivity in the professional world? There is a whole thought process introduced by the "Tiny House" community (under 400sq ft) and by the Minimalism Movement that is currently taking place that can be incorporated into basic organizing principles. What research proves their theory of "less is more"? I have access to some basic articles found by NAPO but find that everyone has this research and much of it is very old and outdated. I'm hoping for scientific / governmental or current research from the tiny house / minimalism movement. I want to use material derived from new research and/or new articles as a way to entice people to become more organized. I want to show them how important becoming and staying organized really is. marie kondo is very popular these days. Would love to see if you can find anything more than what I've noted. NAPO has been around since the early 90's so there should be lots to find. Thank you!
