I need someone to conduct some qualitative and quantitative research on the construction industry in australia. The main focus will be on the building, plumbing and electrical trades however all trades should be kept in mind (painting, plastering, welding etc..) Things I would like to know: What is the size of the commercial products/materials market for delivered goods? This mainly includes large bulky items such as bricks, blocks, tiles/pavers, timber, raw materials anything that is delivered in pallets or not currently easily available from one supplier. Will also include tools and smaller scale products/materials as long as they are mainly being purchased for delivery option (sometimes there is a sense of urgency and waiting for delivery is not an option) Competitor analysis Current major companies are Bunnings and Masters (closing down soon) but they are more retail/DIY focused. Home Timber and Hardware and Thriftylink are general suppliers for trades but do not sell online. My main focus is more on the Importer/Manufacturer of the products and less on the wholesellers/resellers as I want to create a system that will allow tradespeople to buy straight from the source. Who are all the stakeholders in this industry? Who/what powers stakeholders' decision-making? Customer segment analysis The problem I am trying to solve is the lack of an easy platform for purchasing of building products/materials online for trade customers. Some competitors in the online space include: http://buildbits.com.au/ http://buybuildingsupplies.com.au/ https://www.blackwoods.com.au/ http://thriftylink.com.au/ Please let me know if you have any questions or need further details.
