Looking for help refining designs and specs for current working prototypes of a new Lego-compatible robotics platform for kids.
We see the need for a system that bridges the gap between simple building sets that kids already know how to use (Lego, Kinex, etc.) and the more complex and expensive robotics platforms that are out there (Lego Mindstorms, etc.). One that allows kids to build robots by adding on to the things they already have and already know how to build. We've built a working prototype of an affordable, easy to use kit that kids can use to bring their Lego creations to life.
The “Base Kit” will consist of:
- Battery case
- Motor module (2)
- LED module (2)
- Remote control (optional based on level of effort required to develop)
We will send the chosen designer CAD files of the current prototype and a list of changes we'd like to make based on feedback from a failed Indigogo campaign which you can view at: (igg.me/at/KARDS). We found that our existing version is too expensive and we are trying to change some of the components so we can offer it again at a much lower price point. We’d also like to review each of the components we've chosen including the motor, LED, wires, battery box, etc. to make sure the dimensions are right and that they will all work together as planned (and maybe give suggestions for other possibilities that might work better)
