I have an academic research article (5,856 words, less than 20 pages) that I am planning on submitting to a peer reviewed journal. You must be an English native speaker and should have experience editing academic research articles for peer reviewed journals. I prefer you to have any experience working with non-English native speakers (because I’m NOT a English native speaker), but it is not required. If you have a Ph. D. in social science (or related field), that would be plus. If you have any background on statistics, that would be super awesome! So far, unfortunately, my experience working with online freelancers has not been good. In fact, the article you will work on has been already edited by someone who told me that she has a lot of experience. I submitted the article (that she edited) to a journal and I got the feedback by reviewers saying the article seems to be written by a freshman college student. I do NOT need your help with technical aspect of writing (such as APA style, semi colon, or colon, spaces, period, etc). Of course, I need someone who can fix the minor things (such as adding/deleting “an, a, the, etc.”). However, I REALLY NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN EDIT MY WRITING TO LOOK LIKE BE SOMETHING WRITTEN BY AN ENGLISH NATIVE SPEAKER. Because I am not a native speaker, I do not know many words and am not familiar with complicated sentence structure. You will see a lot of same phrases and same/similar sentence structures (e.g., It was found that… It was reported that…) in my writing. I will give you another example: (My writing) Researchers have shown that there is a relationship between self-esteem and delinquency in the past. Researchers have examined whether self-esteem can predict individual’s delinquency. Some researchers have found that there is in fact a relationship between two factors and some have not.
