I have hired a lot of people on Upwork (formerly Elance) but I have never had such trouble writing up a job posting, probably because this job is so personal and so creative, and I really have to think about how to attract the right person to be a part of this. First of all, let me say that this is definitely not a corporate project. It is an academic one and 100% creative. I have virtually no restrictions on what I can do.
For the last 15 years, I have been formulating a plan on how to construct the backbone of a global activist movement. I would like to produce a very short video that directly targets the video professor at Harvard because I want her to be the one I work with to complete my capstone project for my masters degree. For this capstone project, I want to create a longer and more detailed video of some of my ideas. I am serious about this, but hate to take myself too seriously, so I need someone who has a really good sense of humor. I don't want you to do this project for me, but I do need you to advise me on how to deliver the most effective presentation and to help me out with some visual and sound editing. I would really appreciate working with a person who is politically aware, well-read, and driven and laid-back at the same time.
I am going to put 100% of me into this project and I am looking for someone else who has the same kind of passion and ambition that I do. I am not looking to for a yes man. I want someone quick and witty who is going to be able to boss me around and tell me what I need to do in order to make my project more effective. I need someone fast and sharp and present, someone who is truly in manifestation mode, if you know what that means.
Please write to me if you think that you are the right person for the job. I will browse through the bids quite carefully and delete all the people who I know write formulaic responses to the job posts. That's absolutely not what I am looking for. If you are creative and ambitious I promise that I will find you and hire you immediately.
