Watts Village Theater Company, celebrating our 20th Anniversary, is presenting a theatrical call to action shedding light on performers with disabilities as a result of violence.
Production Summary: Informed and inspired by interviews with people with disabilities acquired through violence or accident, this play chronicles the lives of two recently disabled performers, Reggie "Rough Rider" Dunmeyer and Terresa Lopes, as they battle ablism in their attempt to break into the mainstream hip‐hop music industry.IT'S A KRIP HOP NATION will truly remind us: Disability like race, gender, class and queerness is not only apart of our identity, it is reflective of our community and culture. Artistic Integrity and Talent involves all of our identities to tell a universal story that invites participation and shared experience. It’s about to get real.
The Need: We currently are seeking a designer to create a production logo. Attached are some of the collateral we have used thus far for inspiration.
