Configure a small IIS Web Server to host a presentation layer app which communicates via VPN back to Application Tier ( another IIS App ), in private network. Windows Server 2012 or 2008. Implement a very practical ( simple ) snapshot and recovery mechanism so that restoration or re-launch upon loss of the host ( vm ) can be either automatic or performed by a simple aws cli script remotely.

I have an auto-scaling Elastic Beanstalk environment running Rails. I need to update the configuration of the existing environment to correctly handle websocket connections. This means configuring NGINX to forward HTTP upgrade headers while ensuring that HTTP(s) continues to function as normal. The job is complete when the following are true: 1) In the web environment, HTTP assets are served. `wget https://$DOMAIN/assets/app.js` 2) In the web environment, API calls succeed. `curl https://$DOMAIN/_health` 3) In the worker environment, work is successfully received from the Elastic Beanstalk SQS daemon 4) In the web environment, a websocket connection can be established by executing `wscat -c wss://$DOMAIN/cable` 1, 2, and 3 are already true. The only thing to configure is 4. This list is provided to clearly define the regressions that must be avoided. Must be knowledgeable about the following technologies: - Websockets - NGINX configuration - Rails on AWS Elastic Beanstalk with auto-scaling groups - AWS Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) configured for TCP load balancing with HTTPS enabled I have attempted to solve this problem myself by adding the following to `/etc/nginx/conf.d/$FILENAME.conf`. Websockets work, but it breaks the three other functions (API, assets, workers): ``` upstream wss { server unix:///var/run/puma/my_app.sock; } location /cable { proxy_http_version 1.1; proxy_pass http://wss; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header Connection $http_connection; proxy_set_header Upgrade $http_upgrade; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_protocol_addr; } ```

I am looking for someone to spend 1-2 hours each day on server diagnostics, efficiency setups etc. Some of the issues I have experienced are:- Slow downs during backups. Number of connection spikes for seemingly no reason. Site dropouts. I have installed Cloud Flare in case DDOS is part of the issue, but I suspect some inefficiencies in either server set up or code is causing drama. I need someone who is very skilled in this, is available to communicate on Skype at a set time each day), willing to sign an NDA, and has a good Upwork history, possibly with references I can contact to ensure my code will remain secure, and servers stable. I am tired of explaining to customers why they can not access the site. My developers keep trying to identify the reasons for some delays, outages, etc. and make fixes. Today however they accidentally lost a day database which will cause some time to correct. Please try and identify some of my queries in your response. Confidentiality and professionalism is paramount in our relationship if I decide to hire you. Thanks so much - work will commence immediately upon hire. Please begin your application with the word APACHE so I know you have read this completely.

Using an AWS Workspace instance of Windows, configure an AWS Simple AD with test accounts for testing LDAP from a Linux client. Prior experience with using Windows to create users and groups on Active Directory required. Experience with AWS Workspaces is a plus. The AWS Simple AD and AWS Workspace are already provisioned. The Linux LDAP client is a Java application using JNDI that we are testing, not a Linux machine using LDAP for login. We want to do this in an interactive meeting so we can learn how it works and avoid giving out credentials, like an on-premises software install. In other words, we want an expert guide showing us the trail.
