Using FEA, EXPLICIT dynamics, simulate a vehicle crashing into a fence (cable and post) system.
The goal of this project is to determine the total penetration of the vehicle, past the fence line, due to the deflection/stretching in cables and any bending/rotation of the post and foundation. See attached detailed scope of fence system to be analyzed.
-Must be able to simulate a crash of vehicle to cable post/fence and provide accurate results. Attached also, "Progressive Failure Simulation of Security Cable Barriers", is a VERY useful study paper on this type of fence and FEA software simulation..

The payment will be as follows;
Milestone 1:- Truck hitting cables at 90 degrees with cables attached at each end (fixed point ends) and show/provide truck penetration and cable tension. This will be first compared to with actual crash test results. If results are comparable then we move on with the project to Milestone 2. If not, the project will be canceled. (20% of project amount if results match actual)
Milestone 2:- Foundation and end bollard combination analysis. Truck hitting cables at 90 degrees with cables attached at each end to post (not a fixed point as the foundation and post may move or bend) and show/provide truck penetration. (50% of project amount)
Milestone 3:- Truck direct hitting post analysis. (30% of project amount)
-Note that the project may be canceled at any time if after a couple of attempts, the proper results are not provided or we feel that the freelancer does not have a proper understanding of dynamic/engineering analysis.
-Provide your related experience and/or any examples of simulation projects you have previously done.
-Also, please provide the number of days you will require to complete this project (without our review/approval time between milestones).
