I am a real life pilot and Air Traffic Controller requiring the services of an industrial/ product designer/ mechanical engineer. I am looking to produce flight simulation hardware at a reduced cost without sacrificing realism. Job Description: I am looking for a talented industrial Designer or Engineer who will be responsible for creating a compelling and innovative flight simulator yoke initially with the option of adding additional hardware in the future Your responsibilities: - Understand how a aeroplane control yoke works - Translate requirements into highly practical and realistic design concept for a flight simulation yoke - Effectively conceptualise, design and create high-quality visuals in a variety of formats Product requirements: - Realistic flight control feel - Visually appealing - Relatively cheap to manufacture with basic engineering equipment (No one of a kind machinery to complete the production) - Entire concept to be designed using the metric system only. - Solid but light construction. I would like to limit the construction to minimal plastic parts (Perhaps the yoke handle only) but still light enough to post with ease. - Yoke handle also to be designed with a generic but realistic feel to it. - Yoke handle must include areas for buttons, toggle switches and a hat switch - System to be plug and play via a usb connection to computer. - A force feedback system will be advantageous but not essential for this stage of development These are only a few key factors and our idea is to grow our product range into various other aspects of flight simulation such as rudder pedals, throttle quadrants etc. We would also like to allow interchangeable yokes for various plane models in the future. Additional Information: - At the moment we are only looking for design and drawings which we could pass on to a local manufacturer for sampling and production, however we would like to keep the option of a working prototype shipped to us open. If we decide to go with this option a new quote and arrangements can be made. - We are not to specific with regards to buttons. The only requirements is contain a hat switch and PTT button. Other buttons can be inserted where possible to allow for user programming. You are welcome to use your own initiative on this. - We do not have a set delivery date for this project. - We are looking to create a generic type yoke that can be used for flight simulation for a variety of aircraft (Please see the "Saitek" yoke system as an example) This is therefore up to your discretion. We are looking for an individual with sufficient knowledge of aircraft controls and operations.

I would like to build an app that will integrate paper copies of aircraft manuals into the digital world. Right now aircraft manufactures print millions of aircraft manuals each year and the the owners of these aircraft must keep the paper copies in the aircraft at all times. I would like to build an app that will allow manufactures to upload these aircraft manuals into an online database so that aircraft owners can access them from anywhere, including their aircraft.
