The American Refugee Committee is an international nonprofit, nonsectarian organization that has provided humanitarian assistance and training to millions of beneficiaries over the last 35 years. ARC works with refugee communities in 11 countries around the world, helping people regain control of their lives. The people ARC serves have lost everything to events completely beyond their control. ARC provides shelter, clean water and sanitation, health care, skills training, microcredit education, protection and whatever support we can to let people begin.
The company is presently expanding and we need someone who can take up the role of a personal assistant.
The duties and responsibilities of the Personal Assistant include:
Provide general administrative support: manage calendars, maintain organization of office, take messages, run errands, etc.
Calendars: Manage and coordinate mother’s and children’s schedules – school, appointments, activities
Procure equipment and services as needed
Manage incoming clothing items ordered on Internet, manage returns
Make arrangements and prepare itineraries for trips
Draft email and mail correspondence including coordination of holiday card mailing
Help plan and host various family events

Experience working with service staff and other outside vendors

Superior judgment at all times and, extreme discretion with confidential materials
Good computer skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet and e-mail
Experience managing travel plans and making event/show reservations
Personal shopping experience with a sophisticated sense of style, a plus
Superior written and oral communication skills
