World like Home saw the lights of the day due to the personal experiences of some foreign students in Le Mans, having faced a couple of difficulties on their arrival in a foreign country.
The defining and triggering element is the help that the founder rendered to a foreign student from Colombia who had just arrived in France. Having neither family nor friends in France, and with a poor mastery of the local language, he could not find his way to his hostel and campus even though the university had sent him all the necessary procedures via mail. Moving along with his luggage all this time only made his initial experience worse.
After helping him with all the basic formalities, the founder remembered his own days, and the first question that came to mind was: how many students suffer like this every blessed day and what can we do to help?
