Hi - I would love some help writing my resume - in an authentic, out of the box way! From the UK originally, I am not used to the kind of sales/elevator pitch tone that is used in the USA!
I have had a really varied life/career/experiences and struggle to tell that story in a finite amount of words in a resume format! From living, working and travelling all around South America, to settling in London for 6.5 years at an international Ad agency (with lots of traveling of course), to 4 or so years off traveling around the world doing all kinds of meditation and transformational practices, to finally landing in the East Bay and starting to work at PayPal in 2013, where I still am today, in Brand and Marketing. I want to celebrate my time off on my self transformational journey, not hide it! I don't want the resume stuffed with fluff! I just learnt to break a board of wood with my hand, can we include that?
I heave been told not to remove the years from resumes nor arrange items thematically rather than chronologically nor write long-winded objective paragraphs that make resumes mega long and fluffy. So I am looking for your expertise to hit the nail on the head! Keep it clean, neat, short, and concise. Simplicity is king.
Can you help me tell my story that captures who I am beyond just a list of boring qualifications and places I have worked? What do you need from me to make this happen?
Let's focus on including the most important information as clearly and concisely as possible.
I also struggle to bring out the people skill and EQ that my boss and friends are reflecting back to me - I struggle with my own confidence to see the less linear skill sets and valuable!
