----- TASK DETAILS --- START ------- Take google calendar FROM here: http://monticelloliquor.com/our-events and make it work here: TO --> http://monticello.azurewebsites.net/our-events.html Keeping the same type of calendar style from monticelloliquor.com. Solution needs to be in HTML / Javascript....... Not PHP That's It! ----- TASK DETAILS --- END ------ This is not as easy as it looks unless you have experience styling google calendar. Google does not provide a way to style the calendar this way out of the box. Google's documentation only provides very basic styling --------------------------------------------------------------------- It's default behavior is iframe https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/41207?hl=en Here is a hacked solution using php that I found online. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I cannot use this solution since I need a html / javascript solution. http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2012/04/integrating-google-calendar-with-your-website/ Here's another hacked solution - php once again ------------------------------------------------------------ http://stackoverflow.com/questions/217776/how-to-apply-css-to-iframe I HAVE TRIED THE FOLLOWING SO FAR TO TRY TO MAKE THIS WORK, BUT DON'T HAVE A SOLUTION -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Injecting CSS into the iframe. This doesn't work since the cross domain origin security policy prevents this 2. I have also tried copying the contents of the iframe out and placing those contents into an html page and then fully qualifying all of the script and css paths. This allows me to display the calendar and style it; however, none of the events in my google calendar show up on the page. See attached file called cal3.html 3. I have also tried copying the source page directly and pasting that code into my own page. This displays the calendar correctly; however, the buttons to move back and forth between the months do not work. 4. I have tried creating a REST service that reads the content from the google calendar iframe and emits the html in a string and then used AJAX to replace the content of the page with that string. What happens here, when you render the page is that, the page asks you to login to google rather than showing the calendar. Here is my REST call: https://payment2.corduro.com/Corduro.ShoppingCart.REST/ShoppingService.svc/GetCal Out of the box - google provides this code. The following is the embed code that my google calendar creates --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <iframe src="https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=rob%40mikeymikes.com&ctz=America/Chicago" style="border: 0" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> If you render the above, you will see my events. What is Required --------------------- To do this project, it is not simply enough to know how to do HTML and Javascript and/or how to apply CSS styles to the content in an iframe. So often, I get bids that say "I'm a senior programmer, and have x, y, z skill set". That doesn't mean anything to me as I have 25+ years programming myself and I've spent a day on this and I don't have a solid answer to this issue. Instead of someone with x, y z skill set, I'm looking for someone that is willing to do research and either have to go outside of the normal bounds of programming and figure out how to apply CSS to an iframe that is cross-domain, or figure out how to hack the content that is within the existing iframe so that you can render that content on a page that you can control the CSS within. Based on what I read, I don't think that cross domain CSS is an option, since everyone says it's not possible, so I thinking that the answer is going to be for someone to figure out how to take the google calendar content that is within the iframe and figure out how to make it so that it still functions on it's own page. There are 2 possible earnings for this project for a possible total of $500. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $400 - If you can figure out how to render my calender with any custom stylesheet, without losing the ability to click on the existing buttons to navigate between months $100 - If you can modify my calendar to match the style of the monticelloliquor website -------------------- $500 Total Possible Solution cannot be in PHP. It must be in html and javascript.
