We are looking for help in creating a “macro recorder” Chrome extension. It will have only three important commands:
- OPEN URL http://abc.com
- CLICK X/Y TEXT=abc
The UX can be basic and unpolished. This is an initial Proof-of-concept to test out some ideas. If the project is successful, there is a very good chance of follow up projects.
This extension will be used as follows:
1. User clicks “Record” button, then goes to a website and does some browsing and form filling. Addon records this browsing with the above commands.
2. After recording, user stops and saves the script. Then he selects the script, clicks “Play” and the addon replays the script e. g. to fill-out a webform, do some login or other tasks.
This addon will to the similar to Selenium IDE for Firefox, but for Chrome, and with much less commands. X/Y recording and replay is the key part.
The deliverable is a working Chrome extension. It is **OK** to use open-source code (including GPL license) for this project as long as you clearly mention this during the development and list the parts that are open-source licensed.
Please also support simulating mouseover/mouseup/mousedown events (at least for replay, recording is less important at this stage). We would need these events so that we can also automate web apps like Google maps or (as test case) a drawing app like http://literallycanvas.com/. => In your bid, please let me know if you think supporting mouseover/mouseup/mousedown events this is possible.
More details: At http://bit.ly/28MdEBj you find a Google doc file with more detailed specs. Please read this before bidding.
