We are running SF enterprise edition and using their normal conversion from lead to opportunity functionality. In our situation this leads to unnecessary marketing complexity. We would like to automatically convert the lead on satisfaction of certain criteria when the information is first entered. Currently the lead is created outside of SFs web-to-lead form, because of the back-end calculations needed when the lead form is completed by our client. The data is being stored in a MySQL database and processed with PHP. The data is transferred to SF via Zapier where a lead is created. It is at this point when the record is created that I would like a SF automation tool to check if the record fulfills certain conversion criteria and if so automatically convert. The conversion is simplified because firstly, we use one account name for all contacts and opportunities, and secondly the opportunity name is the same as the lead's first name and last name. If, as an alternative, you can carry out this task using the Zapier automation tools, that would also be acceptable. I can see that Zapier could create an opportunity from our information, it could also create a contact but I don't believe it is possible to link the contact with the opportunity. As I am new to software development and SF admin, I will require you to guide me through the installation of the code.
