We are looking for someone to write and record a song that we will play in our orthodontic office when we take patient's braces off. The song should be a parody to a popular song (preferably a classic one so that it does not go out of style too quick). A short 1-2 min song will suffice. Please see the examples of the videos that other offices made. We don't need a video just the audio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9m2O66dzLk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVHeLDngoHM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIwlTACVL9Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ty_KZ9ZaneU PLEASE PROVIDE SAMPLES OF PREVIOUS WORK! Keywords: Song writing, song production, music production, audio production, music writing.

I am looking to visualise various musical chords. It will be beneficial if you studied mathematics or the physics of waves as you will draw sine waves or curves using LaTeX or Tikz. Some basic knowledge of music intervals or chord notation will also be advantageous. I am interested in displaying the harmonics and overtones of a set of notes over one or two octaves. This is a great visual starting point of what I'd like to achieve, except instead of having the sine waves vertically, I'd like them horizontally on top of each other (not stacked). Hopefully this can show visually how consonant or dissonant a chord may sound with this diagram. http://www.gci.org.uk/animations/Vibrating_Strings.swf http://www.synthschool.com/ A clear mathematical way of quantifying this is via the Shannon entropy of the probability distribution: H(d)=-?bpd(b)logßpd(b) where H(d) is the Shannon entropy of the dyad d, the b are all of the basis rationals in the set, the pd(b) is the probability assigned to basis rational b given an input dyad of d, and the logarithm ß reflects the units of information being used (by convention, we set ß=e, corresponding to the use of nats). This is the Harmonic Entropy of the dyad d. I also like you to reproduce the graph for this probability distribution in Excel and later LaTeX. Currently, the model is designed for Dyads, which is only two notes at once. It calculates the consonance or dissonance and shows the ratios between the two notes which are shown as fractions eg 3:5 http://www.huygens-fokker.org/bpsite/consonance.html I would like a similar model, or visual representation of 3-note, 4-note and maybe 5-note or 6-note chords as in the first animation shown (Vibrating_Strings.swf). I have a list of chords, which is to say, a list of the 12-note intervals of an octave or second octave. Sometimes in diagrams this is given in cents, which in one octave go from 0 to 1200 in 100 step increments. In the animation above the increments are given note names, as you do in music (eg G, G#, A, A#...) For all 12 notes in an octave the names will be: \def\intervals{1,b2,2,b3,3,4,b5,5,b6,6,b7,7 ... and the next octave will be 8,b9,9,b10,10,11,b12,12,b13,13,b14,14,15} When you compare the distance or index between two notes, these are called semitones. Now, when we define a chord, it will be a list that comes from the set of intervals above, for example: \def\major{{"1","3","5"}} \def\minor{{"1","b3","5"}} \def\minseven{{"1","b3","5","b7"}} \def\majseven{{"1","3","5","7"}} \def\seven{{"1","3","5","b7"}} The "1" is always the fundamental. The "8" one octave higher. If you had a vibrating string of the fundamental "1" length 1, then the string of the octave would be at 1/2 the string length, and vibrate at twice the frequency. If the chord had a "5" (7 semitones), the string would be 1/3 the string length, and 3 x the frequency. If the chord had a "3" (4 semitones), then the ratio between it and the "1" would be 5:3. If the chord had a "b7" (10 semitones) then it would have a ratio of 7:1 to the "1". http://www.sengpielaudio.com/calculator-centsratio.htm So your code should take the chord name or list as an input, and produce the graph of overlapping (not stacked) sine curves with the different frequencies implied by the intervals. We may need to simplify this graph because we want a lay person to be able to get a sense if a chord is dissonant or consonant from the look of the chart. We may need to experiment with different views, add vertical lines or similar to demonstrate what is happening. I am open to alternatives of graphically representing ratios so we can see where frequencies overlap for any given chord. I can provide a larger list of chords later. This may be an option if you have advanced maths skills, you may be able to create a diagram similar to this, which shows which triads are more or less consonant. (Click on image for details). Ratios are shown in numbers such as 4:5:6 However, this kind of chart is not essential. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Erlich

Looking for a talented up and coming orchestrator/arranger to arrange an original latin big band chart. This is not just transcription - the chosen arranger must put their own person touch and turn the basic demo into a full big band piece. The song is in the style of Michael bubles latin songs -Sway (https://youtu.be/lZM-5SYr2Yk) -Come dance with me (https://youtu.be/8gXUdgdF5-U) -Save the last dance for me (https://youtu.be/8sZFxN1tcSo) This is a chance to be creative and make this a truly original track. Depending on the quality of this track there will be more tracks in both latin and swing style to be arranged. Final delivery must be in the form of a pdf score and a Sibelius/finale file.

We recently finished shooting our first feature film "The Slingshot" and we are in the process of seeking musicians/composers to score the film's musical score. The film is a neo-noir style, which happens in Palestine during the 1967 six day war. The film is a story of love, betrayal, and war. The film is an interesting and unique story, a new approach to cinema emerging from the Middle east, and the MENA region and we want to work with a musician who can and is willing to create, invent, and experiment. We want to work with a musician who holds passion for the story, and its approach and is willing to try new things. We will send a video sample (from the movie) to give the musician an opportunity to impress us. This is a great opportunity for any talented musician who is willing to take the leap and work with us. Check the website for more info on the film and the story: http://theslingshotfilm.com/ Regards, Motaz
