The proposed project is about the design and simulation of surface Acoustic Wave sensor in Comsol Multiphysics. The sensor is a MEMS device with two Interdigital Transducers (IDT) ports ; Port1 serves as the input/output port and Port 2 as the reflector. The reflector is loaded with a Giant Magnetoimpedance (GMI) wire and its value is influenced by an external magnetic field. Due to variations in GMI load the overall impedance of the reflector varies and the reflected SAW wave arriving at Port 1 is delayed. The input and Output signal waves (at Port1) are required to be plotted on time scale with varying external magnetic field. (Hint: Comsol has 3D SAW sensor model in project database and can be found at https://www.comsol.com/model/two-port-piezoelectric-saw-device-19155 . The device's dimensions, design parameters and materials used in the proposed project are same. GMI type is the designer’s choice).
