At the core of our activities are the handcrafted profiles we create for events related companies. I’m in search of one or more editor(s) -- and probably in need of some advice on the editorial process. I’m a recovering entrepreneur. My early career centered on work for venture capitalists and with budding entrepreneurs. About five years ago, I founded a company in the education space; we focused on serving K-12 schools in the transition from textbooks to technology. In the past few years, I’ve lost loved ones to both heart disease and cancer. In the most recent case, I spent a month in the hospital— sleeping in a reclining chair. The firsthand look at our “health” system was chilling and, needless to say, the experience was devastating and transformative at the same time. That experience catalyzed a (slightly manic) drive to understand what happened, why it happens, and what we can do about it. I’ve spent the last 18 months researching, self-experimenting, and generally overhauling my (and my family’s) diet and lifestyle. At some point, I had fielded so many inquiries from friends and family that I decided to put my research and recommendations into a book. I’m seeking editorial support to bring my book-vision to life. I’ve written just under 100,000 words. I’m assuming much of that will be cut, so the end-product is closer to 200-250 pages. I would describe the book as something between memoir and self-help. I’m looking for a combination of substantive and copy editing (and, of course, eventually proofreading as well.)
