We're looking for an engineer able to go onsite and provide both remote hands & facilities work but also linux and network administration. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be the technical liaison between the DevOps teams and the Lab Data Center Environment. In this role, you will be executing small projects independently while contributing to other large projects with the team. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and solving all but the most complex infrastructure issues on a wide range of Data Center systems as well as understanding which issues to escalate to the appropriate resolver groups. As an expert of the equipment you support you will also be tasked with creating and maintaining documentation on these technologies. I have a list of equipment that is ready for purchase (SAN, 4 main hosts, 1 backup host, 2 switches) and need input on the technical specifications of each and reasoning. We are looking to commission a full Windows Hyper-V environment only on the new gear. The SAN will house our 3cx servers, file servers, AD, DNS, DHCP and more. I have the full quote and technical specifications ready of the vendor and gear we are going to use. This will be an ongoing project and once equipment has been purchased and the applicant can demonstrate the correct skill set, I will hire someone to build and migrate our entire environment (1 month+ contract).
