We want to bring out a surveillance software which will display multiple IP cameras.
As preparation and for testing and creating this software we want to have a list of publicly available IP cameras of different manufacturers / models which should display harmless content.
This should be your Web Scraping / Data Mining job. There might be different methods to obtain the raw data like public lists / search engines like shodan.io or reverse engineering or looking at Apps which contain a pre-filled list of IP cams from different manufacturers or ….
As a result in total there should be at least 80 camera URLS which are tested from you to be active and which can be displayed with a free tool like VLC player.
Here are the details:
1. 20 URLS should point to cameras which use the MJPEG format (with HTTP or HTTPS) *
2. further 25 URLs should point to cameras which use HTTP or HTTPS transport and H.264 or .mp4 * as video format *
3. If you could find 5-10 cameras which use h.265 as video format it would be a bonus *
4. The rest of the URLs should point to cameras which use RTP or RTSP as transport and H.264 or .mp4 as video format *
Your work result should be an Excel .xls document containing the URLs categorised into above 4 categories and following columns:
Index, URL, username (where necessary), password (where necessary), remark about location (if easily possible), remark about the content (e.g. “Sydney opera house” “Gershwin tower”, …)
*) Min. half of them should be username / password protected
Username and password must be supplied in this case in addition to the URL
Even simple or default pw's like admin / admin, 1234 are okay. We need them only to test our client authentication implementation.
The list should contain different manufacturers + models and max 3 cameras should be from the same manufacturer.
The list of URLs should be grouped into above categories and must contain links to video streams from different models and different manufacturers.
We want to see brands like following in the list: Hikvision, Dahua, Linksys, Belkin, Foscam, D-Link, Axis, Bosch, Mobotix, Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, Netgear, Abus, Logitech, Vivotek, Edimax
