I require a DBA with deep experience troubleshooting Microsoft SQL replication among Publisher, Distributor, and Subscriber servers.
Transactional replication to several Subscriber severs in a production environment is failing. The selected DBA will consult and/or perform services remotely to identify and correct the cause of the incidents summarized below. Due to the urgent nature of the issue, the DBA must begin work immediately. This job's estimated work load is 8 - 40 hours.
A managed data center contains a Microsoft SQL Publisher server, a Distribution Agent, and a cluster of redundant Subscriber servers. LiteSpeed software is used to create backups.
Incident # 1 Summary:
For an unknown reason, the transaction log in one of two Subscriber servers is growing faster than the server can process the transactions.
Incident # 2 Summary:
LiteSpeed backups of the Publisher server fail with message "Msg 112301, Level 16, State 1, Line 0 // SQL Server has returned a failure message to LiteSpeed for SQL Server which has prevented the operation from succeeding." Native backups fail with message "Backup of the file or filegroup 'sysft_FullTextCatalog' is not permitted because it is not online"
Incident # 3 Summary:
Snapshots of the Publisher Server's publication database are replicating to Subscriber servers successfully, but transactions are not replicating successfully.
