I have a website that is basically more than half written by a developer that has left the project, and I need someone to complete it. The front end is, I believe, complete except for a number of bugs and tweaks, and some of the back end automation is already done as well.
I don't really want to start this project over again, as a lot of time has gone into getting to this point, however if you have ideas for improving what is already existing, I'm open to it.
I have all of the existing code and db files in a zip that I can send over as well as a test environment where you can see it in action, but whoever takes this job will need to install the files on their own environment to continue working on it, and eventually move it to my environment when it's ready to go live or beta. This project was originally to replace an existing site (www.hiddengemsromance.com) with a more updated look and order taking automation.
I don't really know how to budget this, as I'm not entirely sure how much is still left to do on the back end, or how easy it will be for a developer to start working from an existing code base. I have used and tested the site on the developers environment (which is still available for me to show you), so I have a list of existing notes for things that still need to be done and fixed on the front end, but it's not clear to me how much is left on the back end.
Also not sure how much detail to really put into this ad, so I may need to just hear from web developers that are interested and I can send whatever you need to give me a quote - original design docs, bug notes, source files, existing test environment, etc if it sounds like we would be a good fit and you have the necessary skills to get this going reliably.
There is potential for ongoing support and future work that would stem from this project if it is successful. I would also like someone that can make this project a PRIORITY and work on it full time until it is done, as it already MASSIVELY overdue in terms of time - it was supposed to be live weeks ago.
I would prefer to work on a fixed rate budget rather than hourly, but obviously I understand that you will probably need to evaluate the existing code and such first to give an accurate quote.
