Due to the excellent response to this project, and my wish to talk with each individual personally, I’ll need to approach communication and selection of freelancer(S) a bit differently than usual. I’ve updated a small working example (see attached .zip file and screen shots with initially some simple instructions/ideas needed for the system. The attached .zip file is a very small working example of the FoxBase III application to be converted to FoxPro or MCV.net environments. The attached working example requires a 32 Bit OS running in XP compatible SP2|3 mode( currently running on a 2008 32 bit Virtual server) . There are also a couple of screen shots of the FoxBase system (nice) and what they look like opened in FoxPro screens (ugly)! This system you will see is a legacy system written in 1988 – 2000 and am looking to have it:
a. Migrated to FoxPro 9 with existing code functionality with updated screens & mouse functionality with the application operating as closely as possible as it is at this time in FoxBase. This will allow for use of the existing code as much as possible and shorten the time for migration into production. However, am open to design and functional enhancements with still using .dbf tables as the backend. Have dozens and dozens of FoxBase report forms that will need to be recreated in FoxPro or other report writers. I’m open to suggestions here. I’ve done Crystal Reports and more recently DevExpress reports.
b. Convert to MVC .net with SQL database backend. Data and database|table structure currently exist in .dbf & 2014 SQL formats. Issue here is existing code which will completely need to be recoded to become a working system. Lots of time and is a longer timeline to complete. However, am open to this as an option for the right person|team|price.
c. Am also open to migrating to Angular JS and am open to how the system would be developed and perform.
d. Also interested in 2010 VB.net 4.0 & ASP.net with 2014 SQL back end database and DevExpress reporting,
Individuals interested in continuing to pursue this job posting will need to provide a sample working system of your migration /conversion from the attached Fox Base system either in FoxPro or MVC.net that is a working demo to be considered a candidate for this project and to move forward in additional conversations for this project. I’ve work with many oDesk|UpWork freelancers and will need to have a functional demo of the attached .zip system as an application resume for moving forward and being considered for the project. If you do not wish to proceed, I understand and you may withdraw your interest and candidacy from this job posting. Please reply if you agree with the terms of the development of a working demo system and want to continue moving forward with your interest.
Will conduct Teamviewer session and overview of the entire system for those who are selected from their working product conversion example or for those who want to know and see more before moving forward.
Thank you and let me know if you have any questions.
