Electrical Engineer experienced in the design and operations of Critical Facilities to become part of our data center engineering team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates with efficient ease. Building and operating data centers the "right" way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. The data center design engineering team approaches facility design from the chips on the server boards to the facility mechanical and electrical distribution systems which ensure and maximize efficiency of our compute infrastructure.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define project design criteria and develop Basis of Design (BOD).
Technical leader managing the consultants to implement the project through schematic design, design development, to construction documents.
Provide construction administrative support to the Project Manager during construction.
Provide and analyze energy efficient solutions to minimize power losses.
Review and develop detailed scripts for change management request (CMR) activities.
Travel to data center sites for engineering studies, electrical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning, as required.
Provide electrical mission critical system review services to local data center operations teams.
Participate in equipment failure or power outage related incident Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA).
Provide instructions to design consultants, installation contractors and validate quality of installed works.
Review and update data center electrical "as-built" documentation as re-configurations occur.
Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies.
5+ years professional experience in building design and construction. Data center or mission critical design, construction, operations preferred
BS in Engineering discipline required, Electrical Engineering degree preferred
Electrical Professional Engineer registration is preferred
Must hold high level knowledge of high voltage (115kV, 12kV) substation design, mission critical power distribution, UPS, PDU, and Building Management System
Should possess knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NFPA, UFC and UBC
Familiar with construction process and cost estimating process
Must have knowledge of High Voltage electrical safety programs and local regulations
Must have strong cross-discipline knowledge of complete critical facility systems
Past experience in load management at the operations level a plus
Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills
Ability to provide solutions to complex projects under pressure
Must have effective communications skills
Must be familiar with AutoCAD, Visio, and SKM software
