We're looking for a developer for some API development. We need to create entries on our ExpressionEngine site based on data we collect.
Here's how it will work. The user searches for a place. Your system will search the API (probably Google or Yelp) to find results. These results will be presented in a temporary table on one of our website pages. The user will then select the correct result, which will be added as an entry on our ExpressionEngine pages (writing the data to the correct ExpressionEngine fields, possibly using the ExpressionEngine plugin Datagrab).
Please see the attached flow chart. The work required by the developer is in blue. These are just guidelines – we want you to figure out the best process. We are expecting suggestions from you about exactly how the system will work.
You can also see the page where the place should be searched an entered here: http://220.127.116.11/index.php/type/Cafe/USA/Alaska/Anchorage#openModal5
[The fields will be written to the EE database table ('channel') called 'place.' The fields will be as follows: place name (title), the street address (street), city (city), state (state) and country (country) and the logo (logo).]
This project requires database management experience, and knowledge of Google APIs and also and ExpressionEngine and Yelp.
Please respond with details about why you think you can accomplish this project.
