We are a startup medical device company launching a new endoscope. Our markets will be international, and our integrated market strategy includes strong branding. The branding will be conveyed not only with logos on the instrument itself, trade shows booth and marketing materials, but also through to a line of “scrubs” (uniforms) that nurses and endoscopy technicians might wear when performing colonoscopies and other procedures with our instrument. For background, you may view our website: www.saneso.com.
The objective of this job posting is to engage an experienced apparel designer who can help us with several phases of designing, and sourcing manufacture of this line of branded scrubs. These scrubs should have a strong design and high quality.
There are “off-the-shelf” scrubs on the market today that can be personalized with a company logo. However, we would like to consider the cost/benefit of what might be done in terms of color and graphic design, that could leave a stronger impression, yet still be cost effective. In other words, we would like to explore leveraging what works today in terms of standard design of the cut itself (i.e., what is selling now, and preferred by nurses), and standard manufacturing methods by reliable offshore vendors, yet adding a level of unique color or other variation. We anticipate working with a manufacturer offshore (i.e., India, Bangladesh), so a track record and established relationships working with one or more manufacturers is preferable. We anticipate an initial order of 1,500 – 2,000 pieces, but we understand this may vary based on the manufacturer's costs.
General product requirements: Since sizes differ, and one size doesn’t fit all, we will also need help calculating economic order quantities of various sizes. High quality and comfortable fabric are preferred. Since our logo is red, we anticipate considering a gray background, with a red stripe on one side, and a red company name sideways on the other side. But your design recommendations will be considered.
Skills: Apparel design using Illustrator, Photoshop, or other software commonly used in apparel design. The ability to communicate a design to a reliable manufacturer, and work with them to achieve an acceptable result in both visual appeal, quality of fabric, and cost.
Qualification – We prefer a graduate of India's National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and minimum of 5 years of experience in apparel design, fabric selection and procurement, and turnkey manufacturing in Asia.
Payment: by hour.
