I am looking for someone who can draft a women's turtleneck pattern (knit) with a long and a 3/4 length sleeves, as well as grading it to 12 sizes.
My company designs, drafts, illustrates, markets sewing patterns for at-home sewists. So far I am the only person who does everything. To expand, I am looking for some help who is able to draft new patterns for me, so I can release more designs.
I'd like to find someone whom I can work with on a long-term basis, but I want to start with a small test project, which is for this person to draft and grade a turtleneck sweater (knit) pattern (long & 3/4 sleeves) and grade to 12 sizes.
I'd like the sizing to be consistent with the existing patterns, and I can give you the measurements (bust, waist, hips and more) for each of the sizes. I can also give you the smallest and the largest slopers.
The style of the turtleneck will be similar to the "Audrey Hepburn" style. I can provide several photos.
Besides being able to draft and grade, you also need to know how to sew, since I don't believe a pattern maker who doesn't know how to sew.
Keep in mind that this is not a pattern for manufacturing; it is for at-home sewing. The convention of the pattern is slightly different. For example, pattern pieces can be cut on fold. It is a plus if you have used a commercial at-home sewing pattern (Vogue Patterns, McCall, Simplicity, Butterick, Burda, etc.) before, but it's not absolutely necessary. I can also provide a pattern that I created so you understand the conventions.
-A women's turtleneck pattern in 12 sizes with 2 sleeve options (I prefer the sleeve to be one pattern piece with two different cut lengths - one for long sleeve and the other with 3/4 length sleeve)
-The sizes need to be nested
-Deliver in Adobe Illustrator (.ai) - down save to CS5 version
-Up to 2 revisions
You will be evaluated not only by your bids, but also by your cover letter, answers to my screening questions, your portfolio showcasing your previous work, as well as the questions that you ask. If anything is not clear to you, feel free to ask before bidding.
