We are exploring the possibility of starting a podcast. We have the concept, we have the on-air talent; we have something of an episode design; we even have a recording of a first "demo" podcast and plans to record three more. What we need now is someone to guide us through the evaluation phase to the go/no-go decision. Some of this will be general consulting to help us understand our options and guide us to the best decisions about all aspects of podcasting. Some will be intro/outro design and creation. Some of this will be audio editing / production of the demo podcasts and a short audio promo (and along the way helping us develop our own rudimentary in-house audio editing / production skills). Some of this may even be stuff we don't even know we need yet. We are open to paying either a fixed price or an hourly rate for this initial work (but need some idea of what the total cost would likely be) - and can certainly provide additional information about what we're thinking and what we've done so far. (It's almost definitely NOT rocket-science to you, but it's all new to us.) If we do decide to go ahead with the podcast, we would of course look to continue working with the same person on an ongoing basis - preferably on a fixed cost basis somewhat along the lines of: - $15 per podcast up 20 minutes of finished audio, - $20 per podcast from 20 to 30 minutes of finished audio, - $30 per podcast over 30 minutes of finished audio, - $35 per podcast over 60 minutes of finished audio. We like to work with folks who have a creative, problem-solving attitude; who pay attention to detail; and who are extremely reliable. Extra points (though certainly not necessary) for someone who just happened to like our content too - the world of classic literature (you know, Homer, Shakespeare, Dostoyevsky, Austen, etc.).

I would like to mix a song with a dance beat, replace the vocals (in Spanish) with my English translation (but probably not me singing it!). I want the song to sound like a dance anthem at around 120BPM. This may require other music production elements to be inserted, at your discretion. The original track copyrighted music, so it's just for my personal use. Here is the track: https://www.dropbox.com/s/y2vs7vdv494u2ko/08%20El%20Arco%20Iris%20%28The%20Rainbow%29.m4a?dl=0 I would like a copy of the garage band track at the end. I would also like 30 mins of tutoring (over Skype) as to how the end result was achieved. I would like 3 "options" presented within the first 20% of the time allocated for this job, prior to committing to the remainder of the job. This will make sure we are creatively aligned at the outset.

Hi! My name is Ilan and I'd like to hire you to design the sound/music in a film project. The overarching project has been as follows. Over the past year I have been making a film with zero creative input of my own, using only freelancers from UpWork (many of whom were not professionals in the field of work they were hired to complete). I divided the stages of making a film into seven Phases: writing, storyboarding, directing, editing, sound score, color correction, PR/release, and on an extremely limited total budget of $100 hired a different freelancer from a different country for each subsequent phase. Using this format I've been making three films simultaneously. They were written in India, Egypt, and Jamaica - Storyboarded in Ukraine, Bangladesh, and Argentina - Shot in Russia, Ireland, and Germany - Edited in Sweden, Spain, and Belgium - and now it's time for them to be musically scored. I would like you to score ONE of these short films. To give you an idea of scale each script is 10 pages long and resulted in an edited film ranging from 15-20 mins. In my mind these last steps are crucial to the success of this project. Up until this point the people on this project have never created anything like this. This is an opportunity to truly and unironically define in what each film is about. This process should result in one audio file, the exact length of the film you receive, which I will deliver back to the editor who will drop it into the film, and mix it in with the audio. The ideal applicant is simply excited to score a film and be part of a worldwide project. Most importantly they must be a creative problem solver who appreciates the high quality of work that can result from a challenging situation. They must be able to follow the guidelines while insightfully and creatively shaping the material. The ideal applicant is not necessarily a professional or experienced musician...I am far more interested in people with less experience who are excited to take this seriously. This can be done by anyone, anywhere. You can use analog or digital instruments, can bring in as many other musicians as you like. It's all entirely up to you. The material you will be given may seem somewhat brutal, but it can 100% be shaped into something amazing. That is where you come in. The plan will be to show these films in the locations where they were produced. Based on my history of showing work abroad I am very hopeful that this is a real possibility. This entire film is getting made for $100. The writer was paid $10, the storyboard artist was paid $10, and after this step the Colorist, and PR will each be paid $10 which leaves you with $10 - you can use this as you please: keep it for yourself, use it to buy beer for other musicians who help you, whatever. You will be provided 1) A link to a the first cute of the film 2) a short set of instructions that outlines the process just as I've described here as well as some practical considerations such as not using copyrighted music, file format, etc. For the sake of transparency this is the budget Structure for Film 1. Writing - $10.00 2. Storyboard - $10.00 3. Shooting (Directing+ 3 Actors) - $40.00 4. Editing - $10.00 5. Sound Score - $10.00 6. Color Correction - $10.00 7. Release - $10.00
