Before reading any further or applying for this job:
1. Applicants must have significant experience in Laravel or a closely equivalent PHP framework (i.e. Symfony). Writing custom Wordpress 5 years ago doesn't count.
2. We try to vet and interview every applicant, but this is sometimes impossible. Putting together a thoughtful proposal helps your chances tremendously. It should be obvious that you've spent at least 5-10 minutes to actually read and understand the position you're applying for.
3. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and English fluency are strongly preferred.

Looking for 1-3 experienced developers for an exciting project involving cutting edge tech. We're a SaaS startup focused on DevOps, looking to grow our distributed team. We are a fun, fast growing distributed team that values rapid iteration, collaboration, communication, and teamwork.
We have been recently funded by a prestigious NYC-based accelerator and are looking to scale up our team accordingly.
Our ideal candidates are mid-to-senior level software developers that can step into an ongoing project and have immediate impact without needing to be micromanaged every step of the way. We promote an atmosphere of learning, creativity, and critical thinking as you tackle challenging problems around inherently complex application delivery systems.
Experience with some of the following technologies would be a plus: RESTful API development, 3rd party API integration, AngularJS, Docker, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, AWS, DigitalOcean, MySQL, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Mesosphere, Rancher, and Swarm. Knowledge of other frameworks including Ruby and Go are niceties but not necessary.
Since we're focused on providing DevOps solutions to our end-users, working knowledge of TDD/BDD and Agile methodologies is important. You will be expected to deploy code into production frequently and participate in code reviews, pair coding, standups, and ongoing project management as part of a cross-functional team.
Your passion for writing well-structured code will let you take on projects involving Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, container orchestration, application and infrastructure monitoring, and leveraging cutting edge open-source technologies.
We've got the skeleton of our system in place, but our ambitions are large and so things are just getting started. In this role, you will tackle some of the most challenging problems in cloud computing; including scaling cloud services, DevOps, and designing microservices based applications.
